Picking a Mantra

Mantras are a great way to build motivation, find a moment of peace in the chaos, or remind yourself of what you are aiming for in that moment. Much like a positive affirmation, they can be a visual reminder of things to come for yourself and in your life. I believe that finding a mantra or a quote that brings you back to the present moment is so important. Often in life, we get so weighed down by all of the to-do lists, being there for others, and our own lives and responsibilities that our intentions can get lost.

The important thing about choosing a mantra is to consider what it is that you need to hear or what brings a sense of calm, excitement, or motivation. There is not right or wrong way to pick a mantra. My suggestion is to write it down on a sticky note and place it somewhere you will see it often. Some locations might be by your computer screen, on your nightstand, on your bathroom mirror, etc. Another good place would be as the lock screen on your phone. For as often as we pick up our phones to check something, seeing this reminder will be helpful. The goal here is to see the mantra and repeat it to yourself to bring about good feelings. What mantras do you currently use or have you used in the past to help maintain motivation?
