  • Increased awareness of the warning signs of relapse

  • Helping the family make positive changes related to the SUD, such as their patterns of communication and behavior

  • Promoting family strengths

If you are someone who continues to struggle with your family while getting clean/sober or even while maintaining sobriety, I would highly suggest looking into doing family therapy. Each person has a different perspective/experience of the same event, and sometimes those experiences can keep us stuck. Working through the past and also determining how to best support in the future is a beautiful thing. Change is hard, but when everyone puts their best foot forward and towards healing, the entire family benefits.
